Soak the backing paper with a wet cloth and press gently until it is fully soaked.

Peel the paper off slowly. It looks light for now – that is normal.

Let it rest

Important: no water, no rubbing and loose clothes over it for 8 hours. The first two nights too, especially with a sleeve. From the next day on, showers and sauna are fine.

Why 48 hours?

The ink only absorbs into the top layer of your skin and darkens there over 24–48 hours. That layer keeps renewing itself – so the tattoo lasts up to 2 weeks and then fades on its own.

What do I need to watch out for after applying?

The one rule that matters

Important: after applying, no water, no rubbing and loose clothes over it for 8 hours. For the first two nights, make sure you wear something loose too, so nothing transfers to other parts of your body while you sleep. This is especially important with a sleeve, since there's a lot of ink on it. From the next day on, you can shower and go to the sauna. The warmth even helps the colour develop.

Can I use oil or lotion?

Important: don't use oil-based products. Oil stops the colour from absorbing and developing.

From 48 hours on, once the colour has fully developed: apply a light, oil-free lotion daily.

What helps it last longer?

How do I get it off faster?

A gentle scrub with warm salt water, a body scrub or a washcloth makes it fade faster. Just applied? Then you can wash it off right away.

Does it hurt?

No, not a bit. No needle – just water and a damp cloth.

Does it look real?

Yes. The ink absorbs into your skin instead of sitting on top – no shiny film, but a dark blue to black like a real tattoo.

Does it come off in the shower?

No. From the next day on, you can shower and go to the sauna – the warmth even helps the colour develop. Just no water, no rubbing and loose clothes over it for the first 8 hours.

What if I don't like it?

Freshly applied, you can simply wash it off. Later, a gentle scrub with warm salt water helps – within 2 weeks at most it is gone on its own.

How does Tattup actually work?

The ink sinks into the top layer of your skin and reacts there with your skin’s amino acids. Within 24–48 hours this creates a dark blue to black tattoo – no needles, nothing goes deep into the skin.

It lasts up to 2 weeks, then fades on its own as this layer of skin keeps renewing itself.

What color can I expect?

At first barely visible or light blue. Then the ink reacts with your skin’s amino acids: after 24–48 hours it’s dark blue to almost black, a little different depending on your skin.

Are Tattup tattoos safe?

Yes. Our formula was tested by a laboratory and rated safe in a safety report under the EU Cosmetics Regulation – as required for every cosmetic product in the EU.

As with any cosmetic product, an allergic reaction can never be ruled out completely. If you have sensitive skin, do a small patch test first. We recommend Tattup for ages 18 and up.
